As a restaurant owner, long time lacrosse coach, former player and now a consultant, I focus on people, making training fun, improving communication and creating systems that last.
The key staff you employ or players on your team are essential in setting the tone. Therefore, they need to have very definitive skills and a strong foundation of what they do and why they do it. Once they have that knowledge and ability, we focus on relationships with others, where people know how and who to communicate with to get results.
Finally, we take a look at performance at the top level. When your people know themselves and others, they can become leaders who get results through innovation and by being fully engaged.
The best teams I have been a part of have clear roles and expectations for all members. They share a culture that is unique.
